One of Hudson's favorite things to do lately is play in "his" cabinet in the kitchen. He loves everything in it, but mostly loves taking everything out. He is so fun to watch...even though he does this daily, when he opens the cabinet he gets a look on his face that would make you think it is the first time he has seen all of the fun tupperware.

Happy Birthday Mommy = Fun Times for Hudson
This weekend, we headed up to Oklahoma to celebrate my birthday. Driving over 3 hours with an active one year old is definitely different from the sleeping in the car for hours baby we used to have! After what seemed like 10 hours in the car we made it and Hudson was extremely happy to be out of his car seat! Saturday morning I woke up and opened my big gift...an embroidery machine...if I could type with excitment you would see that now. :) As excited as I was about my new toy, Hudson was excited about the box...
(If you are wondering, he has medicine on his face.)
That evening we went to a Japanese Steak House (one of my favorite foods) for dinner. I thought Hudson would just love the chef cooking on the table. Well, he wasn't too sure about it. The fire and the noise scared him a little. I still think he'll enjoy it one day!
Aunt Fern, Nana, Hudson, and Paw-Paw watching he chef.
He had this look on his face the entire time...he looked so concerned.
This afternoon before we left Hudson had us cracking up as usual. He kept sticking his face in this metal bowl and "talking" in it. Then he would look up, smile, and do it again. He is just too cute!!
This is his "kiss" face. He has started making this face if you make a "kiss" face to him! :)
All in all, it was a great birthday spent with family!

Go Faster!!!
My family came down this weekend so Shani and I could have another sewing weekend. The idea is for Shani and I to get tons of sewing done while Nana watches Hudson. It is a win~win for everyone! Aunt Shani was taking a break on Saturday and discovered that Hudson fit perfectly in her sewing bag...so...off they went. Literally...they went flying around the house and Hudson was in heaven. He just smiled, squealed, and laughed the whole time. Then, cried each time Aunt Shani tried to take a break. He LOVED going fast and I can just hear him in years to come saying, "Go Faster!!!"
Rounding the corner.
Hang On!!!
Oh man, are you really not going to pull me around anymore???
I just had to throw this picture in. Nana, Aunt Shani, and I took Hudson to Ballard Street Cafe on Sunday morning. We used to eat breakfast here every weekend when my family came down for the weekend. This was Hudson's first time at Ballard Street and he loved it. He especially loved our sweet waitress though...this was him flirting with her. Too cute!

Non-planned Playdate!
Last week my friend Melissa was having a rough week...her son Colton was teething and it was taking its toll on everyone. So Friday morning I emailed her asking if she need a break that afternoon. She said yes and asked if we could come over. Right after we got there, Jessica called and decided to stop by too. So, we had a non-planned playdate! It was such a nice afternoon just visiting for a few hours and the boys had fun playing. An extra bonus was that Melissa took some of the cutest pictures of Hudson...

A Saturday of Service
What an amazing day! I have always wanted to volunteer at a Habitat for Humanity project, so when our church announced it would be doing one I immediately asked Kelly if he would be interested. He said yes and I signed us up. Noni was of course more than happy to come over to watch Hudson for the day while we volunteered! :) So, we left at 7:00 this morning and headed to the house. There were over 80 volunteers that showed up and after a briefing and a prayer we were divided up and put to work. We were lucky enough to be put on the same team as the homeowner, Aretha. It really was one of the best days ever. We got to meet so many wonderful people from other churches in the area, operate some neat power tools, and truly realize the feeling of a hard days work. We decided on the way home that we want to do this every year...that is how great it was. We can't wait to go back in November for the dedication. This was the house about 3 hours after we arrived. (They started working on it 3 weeks ago.)

Helping Mommy
Hey guys, Hudson here! I have a little story for you. This morning after breakfast Mommy opened the dishwasher and started taking dishes out of it. I think this must be one of Mommy's favorite toys because she is always putting stuff in it and taking stuff out of it. It is kind of like my cookie jar shape sorter I think. Anyway, she was playing and I thought it would be fun to play with her so I started taking silverware out too.
Here I am helping Mommy take stuff out of her fun toy.
Mommy was taking pictures of me while I was playing, but I was having so much fun that I didn't want to stop and smile. Finally she got out some keys and made a fun noise with them to get me to look at her. She is so funny sometimes. Those keys gave me a great idea once she set them down...
Uh oh...she caught me! She is always telling me not to put keys in my mouth because they are dirty. So...I thought it would be a good idea to put them in her fun toy to have them washed!
Here they are...ready to get a good cleaning so I can put them in my mouth!

A Different Kind of Labor Day Weekend...
Almost every year we do the same thing for Labor Day Weekend...head to the lake. This year was going to be no different. It had been on the calendar for months and that was the plan. Until...Hudson got sick the week before. Hudson contracted a HORRIBLE virus the previous Sunday complete with a 104.5 fever and blisters on the back of his throat. Poor baby!!! Needless to say it was a LONG week in our house and poor little Hudson wasn't up to eating or drinking, much less going to the lake. So, the family decided to pack up and come here for the weekend to give Mommy a bit of a break and help with the little guy. We stayed in for most of the weekend except for Shani and I going to get pedicures and having a nice lunch out eating one of our faves...sushi. (Yum, yum!) Hudson got tons of TLC and was feeling much better by the time the weekend was over. Yea!!
Aunt Shani pushing Hudson around in a container. He LOVED this!!!
His face in this picture says it all!!
Shani and I had some cutting and sewing to do for our upcoming craft fair and Hudson decided to help us get organized. My was he a good helper...
He was done helping at this point, but was still dragging a fancy red ribbon around. Don't tell Daddy!
Hudson ready for the OU game!
