Nothing says summer like...

...spray parks and popsicles! Hudson had a fun filled day on Saturday. We started off the day by taking him to a spray park to have a picnic and play. It was very hard to "picnic" because he had his eye on the water!!

Who is that running through??

There's my boys!
Later that afternoon after a nap, Hudson got to have a popsicle for snack. The look on his face was priceless...you would have thought he hated it, but you couldn't pry it from his hands. Looks like we will be having lots of these this summer!

4 Day Weekend

Kelly decided to take off this past Friday so that we would have a 4 day weekend instead of a 3 day weekend. We planned on taking Hudson to the Ft. Worth zoo on Friday after his nap, but it didn't work out. By the time the little guy woke up from his nap and we got on the road, we realized we wouldn't be there until 4:00. The zoo closes at 5:00, so we decided that wouldn't be the best idea. Instead we took Hudson to a fun park to feed some ducks. He didn't seem to mind the fact we didn't make it to the zoo since we saw quack quacks!

He was a little leary of the ducks at first. They had NO FEAR...they came right up and ate out of Kelly's hand.
Hudson tried throwing the bread. See how far away it landed? :)

Such a big boy!!

Doing what kids do best...playing in the woodchips!
Friday night after Hudson had already gone to bed, Paw-Paw and Nana came to visit. We had such a great weekend with them. It was so nice being able to see them for an extra day. Sadly, we were so busy having fun that I hardly have any pictures. Oops!
The only picture of the 3 of them.
Nana helped me with our flower beds on Sunday and to entice Hudson into the shade we pulled out this spray ring they had gotten for him last year. Let's just say it was a MAJOR hit! We'll be using this A LOT this summer!!
Hope you all enjoyed your long weekend too! :)

Playgroup ~ Splash Style!

Playgroup was at Meredith & Reid's yesterday and it was so much fun! The weather was beautiful, so we spent most of the time outside enjoying a break from all of the rain that we have had. There were so many fun things for the boys to do...splashing around in the pool, playing on Reid's great new playset, blowing bubbles, and eating the YUMMY food Meredith made. Hudson of course loved playing in the pool the best...it didn't surprise me one bit because he is a little fish! Hudson, Chapman, Tanner, and Porter splashing around.

Hudson had me cracking up because he kept sitting on the side of the pool and riding it like it was a bull. It was absolutely hilarious. He is such a silly boy!!

Look at him...he has his arm up and everything. Mommy's little bull rider! :)

21 Months!!

Hudson is 21 months old today. Umm…WOW! I can’t believe that in 3 short months he will be 2. That is so surreal to me. He continues to be an absolute mess and is so much fun. A few of his favorite things these days are: running, coloring, playing with play dough, being outside, making animal sounds, looking for tweet tweets (birds), attempting to jump with both feet, dancing in circles, eating any fruit imaginable, asking to hold animals that he sees, and just being a BUSY BUSY boy. A few things we are working on these days: only using crayons on paper, learning that we can’t be outside ALL the time, eating vegetables, play dough doesn’t taste good no matter how many times you try it, sharing, riding in the stroller isn’t a horrible thing, and trying to understand that he can’t hold things in tanks, animals in books, or animals in the wild. (He asks constantly to “hold” things like cows, birds, horses, fish…you name it, the kid wants to hold it!) He continues to be the absolute light of my life and I am so thankful that I am his mommy!
His 21 month pics are of him doing one of his new favorite things...playing with do (play dough).

I had to throw these in here too...just being silly. :)

My Poem to My Mommy...

Upon waking up yesterday Hudson gave me a card that he and Daddy made together...so sweet! Here is the front:
This is what the inside said:
My Mommy cuddles me, kisses me, hugs me, and misses me
pampers me, praises me, always amazes me
washes my clothes for me, tickles my toes for me
giggles and talks with me and also goes on walks with me.
She says "sweet dreams" to me,
sings sweet songs to me.
I am glad she belongs to me!
(Daddy had some help from his friends at Hallmark!)
It was a great Mother's Day and I couldn't ask for two sweeter boys to help me celebrate!
On Friday I took Hudson to have his pictures taken for a gift for his Noni and Nana. He wasn't really in the mood to smile for the camera, but we did get this sweet face.
I also decided to jump in on the action since he and I are rarely in pictures together.
This might be my favorite gift this year!!!

Ready or not, here I come!!!

Hudson has been LOVING playing hide and seek with me the past few days. I will hide (in a not very hard to find spot) and start calling his name. Then I hear his sweet little feet running around the house while he screams. When he finally finds me he has the biggest smile on his face and gets so excited. So, I always tell him it is his turn to hide and the cutest thing is that he normally hides in the spot I was just in!! Isn't that precious!?!
Hmm....do you think that could be Hudson hiding behind the curtain? Who's little toes are those??
There he is!! I love you little man!! :)

Children's Museum

With all of the yucky weather we have had, Kelly and I decided to pack Hudson up and take him to the Children's Museum at the Dallas Museum of Nature and Science on Saturday. We decided to go after Hudson's nap and it was POURING on the way there. It took so long to get there that we only had an hour to play before they closed. It ended up being a good thing though because they stamped our ticket stubs and said we could go back on Sunday. So, Noni and I took Hudson back again today to finish playing! :)
Hudson hates hats, but loved wearing the fireman hat...how cute is that little jacket?!?
He was absolutely fascinated by the turtles. He kept asking if he could hold it. Cute cute!! He stepped in for a closer look...

Maybe it is just me, but don't you love pics of boys walking hand in hand with their daddy? Melts my heart!

This was a dinosaur dig, but Hudson thought it was just the worlds biggest sandbox and he was in heaven!
Until he looked up to see this above his head...

Since we had to leave without finishing, Noni and I took Hudson back today to see more of the museum. Hudson was happy to discover the water room. I will admit that we had to carry him out of there kicking and screaming (literally) because he was getting so wet!!!

He almost had the idea with the stick horse! I just crack up every time I look at this picture!!!
He saw big kids riding the tricycles and just had to do it himself. He was really walking and pushing the handles. Too cute!

The finale of the day was discovering the GIANT bubbles that Noni made. The boy was in awe!
SUCH a fun museum. If you haven't been, you have to take your little one. Hudson did actually cry (and scream) and say no and please while we were leaving because he wanted to stay. It was pretty cute! (And a little embarassing!!)

Ella came to play!

Ella's Mommy had a very important meeting to go to Friday morning, so she came to play for a little while. I got a small glimpse of what it would be like to have two kiddos close to the same age and man did these two keep me busy!! Hudson loved having a friend over to spend the morning with...we had such a good time! Here are a few things they did...
Coloring and stickers is always a good time!
My silly little man.
Hudson cracked me up because I got the booster seat out for Ella, but he thought the fun chair was for him, so Ella got the high chair.
After lunch they decided to do some cooking of their own. :) Notice how they both have a Curious George near their bowls?? I didn't even see that until I looked at the picture...how funny!
Sweet Ella! Thanks for coming to play! :)
