7 Months!!

Tuesday, October 14th, Holden turned 7 months old.  I remember time flying by with Hudson, but I really don't remember it going by THIS FAST!!  I think part of it must be with how busy we are with Hudson in school and all of his activities.  I am SO thankful to be at home with this little guy during the day as time seems to race by.  I really try to cherish each one on one moment with him.  He continues to be an absolute joy.  He is such a happy baby and had several first this past month.  He is eating solids like a champ. He has had peas, green beans, sweet potatoes, butternut squash, yellow squash, zucchini, carrots, and bananas.  So far he seems to like zucchini and bananas the best.  He gets a HORRIBLE look on his face when you put peas in his mouth.  I don't blame him!  He also had his first tooth break through and the second one is on its way.  He started sitting up by himself this month and started saying ma ma, da da, and ba ba.  He is "talking" all the time...it is beyond precious!  He is still napping pretty good during the day, but still wants to get up twice in the middle of the night to eat...not fun!  The exersaucer is still his favorite activity...that and watching big brother play.  Too cute! We all love him to pieces!!

He absolutely melts.my.heart!!!

OU/TX

This past Saturday, we headed to Garrett & Jaclyn's house for their annual OU/TX watch party.  Holden had a really rough night the night before, so Kelly let me sleep in when the boys woke up.  I woke up to find both boys wearing UT shirts.  Ugh!!  Sadly, I can't blame Hudson's choice of shirts on Kelly.  He decided a few months ago that he was a Texas fan and there hasn't been ANY changing his mind.  :(  So, here are my Texas boys.  Don't you think they would look better in crimson?!?
Before the first quarter was over though, I changed Holden into an OU shirt.  I've only got a limited number of years before he has his own opinion.  Ha!

Watch D.O.G.S.

Today was the day that Hudson has been waiting for since this time last year...Daddy's turn to be Watch Dog at his school!!  He was beyond excited to walk to school with Daddy and share him with the school today.  He has been waiting for Friday ALL WEEK!  Hudson and Holden are SO blessed to have this amazing man as their Daddy!!

6 Months!

Holden celebrated his half birthday on September 14th.  He is SUCH a happy little chunky monkey!!  When he went in for his well check he weighed 17 pounds, 3.5 ounces and was 26 inches long.  I went back to see how big Hudson was and he was almost 2 pounds lighter, but was half an inch longer...crazy!  Holden's thighs are something to be reckoned with!  Ha!  He continues to be an absolute JOY!  He LOVES his exercauser more than anything, but also likes his bouncer and playmat.  He loves all things outdoors, but most of all likes to swing and look at trees and leaves.  He loves flying through the air and bouncing on knees and legs, loves watching big brother play, loves to snuggle and be held, and loves being sung to.  His favorite songs are Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, If You're Happy and You Know It, and 5 Little Monkeys.  He smiles all the time and is so fun that Hudson even wants to play with him these days...that says a LOT!  :)

He fell over during pictures and just cracked up!  Too cute!
Before his first "meal" of peas, I just had to pull out this sweet pea onsie and put it on him.  :)
Happy to be in the high chair.

Wondering what in the world Mommy just put in his mouth!
I made a "half" cake and we sang to him.  He was SO EXCITED!  (Sorry he didn't get any cake...got to wait 6 more months for that little guy!)

Time is FLYING by, so I'm trying to savor each moment!!!  Love this little guy!!!

7 Year Pictures

We had Hudson's 7 year pictures taken on August 23rd.  I absolutely love them!  When our fabulous photographer sent me the proofs, I couldn't help but feel like I was seeing a glimpse of what he will look like at 18.  Some days I feel like I am watching him grow before my eyes and others I still see him when he was a toddler.  He is silly, loving, kind, perceptive, talkative, insistent, energetic, strong willed, and ALL BOY!   A few things have changed over the years though...he now loves to go to football games (and watches the entire thing!!), he is a Longhorn fan (Boo!), he is becoming an adventurous eater (even likes sushi...yes!), he can play by himself for LONG amounts of time, and sadly doesn't want to hold mommy's hand anymore.  (That one is VERY SAD!)  I love him more than words and he will always be my little boy no matter how old he looks in these pictures!
