Up Up and Away

Today, Hudson and I met Melissa and Colton at the park for a picnic lunch and to try out their bucket swings for the first time. You can see by the pictures that Hudson LOVED the swings!!! He was so happy in it...I think he could have swung all day and been just fine. I think we might be purchasing a swing to hang from our patio this week!!! :)
Check out that smile!

Sneak Peek!

This past Saturday, we had the privilege of being in a photo shoot. One of Leslie's friends is a photographer and wanted to do a shoot of mommies with their babies. She is so talented and had some of the cutest ideas. The boys were even cooperative for most of the photo shoot!! She posted a few of the pictures on her blog, which I put down below...SO SWEET!!! The rest of the pictures will be on her website in 2 - 3 weeks. I'll keep you posted. Thanks Nell!!

A Day at the Zoo

This Sunday we decided to take Hudson to the zoo. We had wanted to take him a few weeks ago, but he had an ear infection and it was really windy so we decided to hold off. This Sunday however was perfect! The weather was absolutely gorgeous. We were not the only people that decided to go to the zoo...it was packed! I don't know how many of the animals Hudson actually focused on...the only ones he really seemed to enjoy were the little monkeys that were jumping all around. He was awake the entire time just looking around...I think he did a lot of people watching! :) A huge gorilla, Hudson, and Daddy.
OK...so we took a lot of pictures with the iron animals! :) Can you blame us?

Hudson really liked this lion...I think he thought he was a giant stuffed animal!

(This is what I found after a restroom break...why use the sippy cup, when you can have Daddy's water?)

Deep in the Heart of Texas...

On Tuesday, Hudson and I met Melissa and Colton to take pictures in the bluebonnets. Melissa found the perfect patch near her house and we got some really cute pictures. Hudson didn't know what to think of the bluebonnets when he touched them...it was really cute to watch.

Hmm...what is this?

8 Months!

Hudson is 8 months old today!! I just cannot believe that...I have no idea where the time is going. I know I say that every month, but it just blows my mind! He is SO MUCH FUN these days. I realized today when I was trying to take his picture next to his pillow how much he has changed. He kept turning around trying to mess with his name or bending down to play with his feet. Gone are the days where I would just prop him against it and click away with him just looking at me. He is definitely into exploring everything around him...mostly by reaching. If it is even close to arms reach, he tries to get it. He is much more vocal now and has the best belly laugh when you really get him going. He is turning into such a great eater ~ so far he will eat anything that we give him and most of the time he wants more. He is getting more independent, but still prefers that I sit with him on the floor when he is playing...he lets me hear about it if I get up to try to go do something. He has definitely developed stranger anxiety, but also remembers friends immediately. He rolls all over the place, but isn't crawling yet. I put toys down out of reach to see if he will try to get them and caught him pulling the blanket to himself the other day to get the toy. Lazy or smart? I'm going with smart! :) He is such a joy and words cannot explain how much I love him...I know all you Mommas out there get that 100%!

Weekend with the girls...

Hudson got to spend a weekend with the girls this weekend. Kelly was turkey hunting in Kansas, so Aunt Shani and Great Aunt Fern came to visit. Hudson just got a little spoiled! :) We didn't plan too much, which was really nice. Great Aunt Fern watched Hudson while Shani and I went and got pedicures and then we went to dinner Saturday night. We missed church today because of Hudson's napping. So, I went and picked up lunch and we just spent time together before they headed back to Oklahoma. It was a wonderful, relaxing weekend!
See this pitiful face? Hudson liked his first balloon for a few minutes, but then became frustrated that it wouldn't go away. We finally had to untie it and move it to the other side of the table!

Beautiful Day!

Today we went to the Arboretum and you could not have asked for a more beautiful day!! It was sunny, there wasn't a cloud in the sky, it was 72 degrees, and there was no wind. It was one of those days where you want to just stay outside. We met Leslie and Griffin in hopes of getting some good pictures and seeing the tulips. We did get some good pictures, but most of the tulips were already dead! This weekend is the last weekend of Dallas Blooms, so I guess we were lucky that we saw any at all. :) For as long as Leslie and I have known each other, people have always asked us if we were sisters. Being roommates for four years definitely didn't help matters...it just made us more alike! Well, today we had people ask us if we were sisters and we even had someone ask if the boys were twins! How appropriate!! Hudson and Griffin facing forward these days.

When we got home, Hudson was playing in his Jumperoo and discovered that he could reach the curtains! I guess it is time to move the Jumperoo farther away from the wall. The look on his face cracks me up...he looks like he got caught!!!
Who me?
I don't think I'm supposed to touch this, but I just can't help myself!

Watch Out Mommy!!

Yesterday afternoon a package arrived in the mail from Nana. In it was a onesie for Hudson. A friend of Nana's was out and about one day, saw it, and couldn't resist it. Nana told me something was on the way and I at least had to put Hudson in it and get a picture...it is a 6-9 month, so it is a little tight! Should I be worried?? :)

Big Boy!

This Saturday, Kelly and I decided to take Hudson to lunch and to the grocery store. As we were walking out the door I grabbed the shopping cart/highchair cover for the first time thinking we could try it and see if Hudson was ready for it or not. Boy was he! I guess I should have pulled this great invention out a few weeks ago. He absolutely loved sitting up and being able to look around at everything going on. I always call him my "little observer" because he just watches everything. He definitely won't be stuck in his carrier anymore when we are out ~ he will be watching the world!

We introduced the sippy cup for the first time...he didn't quite know what to make of it.
Hudson didn't quite get the hang of the sippy cup...he drank the lazy way...letting the cup sit on the table!!!
