It's a JUNGLE out there!!!

OK, so it is not uncommon for us to find rabbits in our yard. It happens at least once a week (if not more) and Hudson always runs after them and says, "I'm coming to pet you bunny" each time. It is precious! If you look closely at the picture below you can see the bunny that Hudson is walking towards on the side of our house.
Here he is running back to me in complete shock that the bunny ran away. He is surprised every time...sweet little man! :)
So...I can handle rabbits. They are welcome in my yard any time actually. Little did I know, we had another visitor that day. The very same afternoon...probably about 10 minutes after these pictures were taken, Kelly got home and said you are going to die when you see what is in the garage. I walked out and there was a HUGE snake! Yes people, a SNAKE...halfway in the garage all coiled up in the corner...on the SAME side of the house that Hudson and I were playing on just 10 minutes before.
YIKES huh?!? I wasn't kidding, it is huge isn't it??
It is a good thing Kelly was home to take care of it because I seriously might have had a heart attack if I pulled in the garage to find it. Let's be honest, I probably would have just backed right out and driven away! Ha! I will admit that I do a double take when I get in and out of my car now and I'm a little freaked out in the garage...I'm just sayin!

Hudson & Mommy

Last year for Mother's Day I had a picture taken of just Hudson and I to give to the grandmothers. After doing that, I realized that it was by far the best Mother's Day gift for me!! Since I am normally the one behind the camera, I seem to have tons of pictures of Hudson with other people. So, I decided to make it a yearly tradition (as long as Hudson will let me!) to have our picture taken as a Mother's Day gift to myself. We got some really cute ones this year and I already treasure them so much!!!

Field Trip Day

We have had a "date" planned with Aurora & Avery to go to the Dallas World Acquarium on the calendar for months now. So, as soon as Hudson was finished with breakfast this morning I loaded up the car and off we went. We talked the entire way about all of the animals that we were going to see and he was so excited. THEN, we got there. There were so many field trips there that the line to get in was literally wrapped around the building. We decided that it wasn't a battle that we wanted to fight and stood in the parking lot trying to figure out what to do. We ended up taking the kids to the Kids Museum and they had a blast. We'll try for the Acquarium when field trip season is over!!
Hudson was cracking me up...he was lovin' the safety goggles!
The water table was great, but he was NOT a fan of the smock!

He told me on the way home that the balloon was his favorite thing. This is him watching it go up.

These two just make me smile...they were going nuts in the spider web and were too cute in these costumes!
We definitely couldn't leave without digging for dinosaur bones!

Such a fun morning with friends! We'll try for our original field trip soon!

A BEAUTIFUL Day at the Zoo!!

We have been dying to take Hudson to the zoo and had it marked on the calendar to go this weekend. We have been watching the weather every night this week thinking our plans were going to be ruined because of the rain we were supposed to get. So, when we woke up this morning to SUN, we were so excited to tell the little man that we were going to go to the zoo! We ate breakfast in the car and headed to the Ft Worth Zoo to arrive when they opened. The weather could not have been more PERFECT...it was seriously the best day at the zoo ever. Not only was the weather AMAZING (did I mention that already?) but there was hardly anyone there. Our friends Leslie and Griffin met us there and the boys had a blast!
Check out the looks on their face...they were looking at this guy holding a stick!
Not sure if it is Hudson's love of all things Curious George, but he did seem to love all of the monkey exhibits! :)

A very sad attempt at a picture...yes, Hudson is picking his nose...YUCK!
OK, this by far might have been the highlight of our day. We bought seed sticks for the boys and the birds would just land on the sticks and start eating the seeds. It was so cool!

Had to snap this picture of them looking at the sharks since Hudson's shirt had a shark on the back. Pretty appropriate huh?

These boys could not have been any cuter!!
Hudson deciding where to go next.
You can't go to the zoo without a picture on the alligator!
Look at their feet...precious!

OK, these silly boys kept spontaneously busting out with ring-around-the-rosy. It was hilarious! Check it out...

We ended the day with some yummy ice cream which Hudson ended up putting in a cup. We realized he has only had ice cream in a cup, so we was very confused by the cone!
This little guy PASSED OUT after being in the car for about 2 minutes. Such a sweet face!

I can't wait for our next trip to the zoo!
