Thanksgiving 2012

Sadly, we don't have any pictures of Thanksgiving day this year.  Hudson woke up sick and we did go ahead and go to Poppy's for a while, but he spent most of the time curled up next to me on the couch dozing.  It was such a sad sight.  :(  Lucky for us though, it was just a 24 hour bug and he was completely fine the next day!  So, we headed to Oklahoma to give thanks with our family!  We celebrated that Saturday and Hudson was so excited to find out that Aunt Shani brought a craft for him.  Love her!  They sat for about an hour and painted and decorated a Christmas tree.  What a lucky boy!

 Silly Aunt Shani!
Hudson and Great Aunt Fern having a moment.  :)
After dinner, Hudson and Nana retreated to her room and were ready for combat.  They were hiding behind a chair and would attack when anyone came in.  He would get SO tickled each time.  It was priceless!!

Love him!

The BIG Red Dog!

This past Sunday afternoon, Noni surprised Hudson with tickets to see the Clifford musical in Dallas at the Winspear Opera House.  When we got to our seats, Hudson could not take his eyes off of the HUGE red lights hanging from the middle of the theater.
When the show was about to start, he was really shocked because the lights went into the ceiling.  He started yelling for me to take pictures.  :)

Sadly, I wasn't allowed to take pictures during the show, but when it was over I snapped a quick picture of Clifford.  Thanks Noni for a fun afternoon!  :)

ASI Afternoon!

A few weeks ago, Hudson's old gymnastics teacher contacted me to set up a playdate at the gym.  She invited Hudson, Tanner, Ellie, Reid, and Jace to come have lunch and play.  (Hudson, Tanner, and Reid all started taking gymnastics under Miss Amanda when Hudson was just 18 months old!  Hudson took classes with her until he was 3.)  So, this past Friday we picked up Chick-fil-A and headed to the gym.  Hudson was beyond excited to see Miss Amanda, and to PLAY!!
First up, swinging from the rope of course!!

An action shot on the trampoline.
 Sliding into the pit.
After we ate, we had to take a group shot of the kids with Miss Amanda.
Jace, Tanner, Miss Amanda, Hudson, and Ellie  (Reid was at Kindergarten)
Hudson with sweet Miss Amanda!  It was a GREAT afternoon!!

Motorcycle Building

Last week, Kelly was telling Hudson that he used to love making model cars and airplanes when he was little.  Hudson immediately asked if they could make one together.  So, Tuesday night we hopped in the car and headed to Michaels.  All of the cars and planes were too hard, but they found a motorcycle to try.  Hudson could not wait to get started when we got home.  He patiently sat next to Kelly and gave him the pieces when needed.  Kelly quickly realized that even this set was too hard, but they had a great time building together.  I see many of these in our future!  :)

My boys with their finished product...so proud!  (Excuse Hudson's pizza face!)

Turkey Shirt!

Hudson's class made turkey shirts a few weeks ago to get ready for their Thanksgiving Feast at school this past Thursday.  I had to snap a few pics of him wearing his shirt before heading out the door.  He was thrilled, can't you tell??  :)

Halloween 2012

I am laughing at myself because the first several pics of our Halloween this year are pictures of food!  We started off the morning by making ghost pancakes:
Hudson then asked for a jack-o-lantern pancake.  Hmm...I tried my best, so I get an A for effort, right??  :)
Then, we did our traditional jack-o-lantern pizza from Papa Murphy's. Such a fun dinner every year!
Hudson had swimming lessons earlier that day, so he took a bath while the pizza was cooking and went ahead and put his jammies on.  We just put his costume on over his jammies, so when we got home he was ready for bed.  Yes, I thought this was genius!  Ha!  He was so cute because when he got out of the tub, he asked for the comb to fix his hair.  He did his Superman hair all by himself!!  I thought his "curl" looked great!  :)
My precious Superman ready to GO!
 Striking a Superman pose!

Showing those muscles with Daddy and Mommy.  (Don't ask about the pumpkins...he kept moving them around??)

We ended up walking around with the Tigert family and Aday family.  Hudson had so much fun trick-or-treating with Stone, Rowan, and Ella.  Here the boys are walking into a "haunted house" down the street.

Halloween 2012 = SUCCESS!  He ate one piece of candy and then the tired Superman went straight to bed!  :)

Class Halloween Party

Hudson's class Halloween party was the day before Halloween this year.  I was in charge of the snacks for the party, so I got a little creative via Pinterest to come up with some healthier snacks to try to fit in with his school's guidelines.  The night before, I made these banana ghosts which turned out SO cute!!
I also turned little cuties into jack-o-lanterns.  I did these last year too and just couldn't resist!

Each kid got a jack-o-lantern and a ghost...
...and then they got to take a witch finger!  These cracked.me.up for some reason!!

 His class eating away!
Hudson took eating his ghost very serious!  Ha!

Owens Farm

I have been taking Hudson to Owens Farm every Fall since he was a baby, and this year was no different!  Last Monday, we went with Jessica, Stone, and Rowan and had a blast.  Since Hudson has always been such an animal kid, I think this is by far his favorite pumpkin patch.  He loves feeding the goats every year.  :)
He was very serious on the hay ride this year. :)
 Picking out the perfect pumpkin.

He and Stone posing for us.
The funniest part of the day was when the workers came out to pick up all of the yucky pumpkins.  Hudson and Stone immediately started helping them and were SO in to it!  After helping collect the pumpkins, the guy even let them throw some of them over the fence for the horses to eat.  I think they had more fun "working" that day than anything else that they did.  So random!!
With Hudson starting Kindergarten next year, I am really trying to soak up all of these days where we can do fun stuff like this.  I know it will be a whole new ballgame next year!

Pumpkin Carving

Last Sunday after church we decided it was a good day to carve our pumpkin.  I drew on the face that Hudson picked out and then Daddy started carving.  He had an excellent helper by his side.  :)

 He loved his Jack-o-lantern!
Then we got to work pulling out the seeds.  He was much braver than in years past...he dug right on in this year.
Noni even joined in the fun.  After about 10 minutes though, Hudson said he was bored and wanted to play.  Typical!
