Whirlwind Weekend!!

What a whirlwind of a weekend!! My cousin, Danielle got married this weekend in Kansas. We really wanted to be there, so we flew to Oklahoma on Friday afternoon and then drove to Kansas on Saturday with our family to make the wedding. We stayed in Kansas Saturday night, then drove back to Oklahoma Sunday, went straight to the airport and flew back to Dallas...whew! It was a fast and furious weekend, but we had such a great time seeing family and are so glad we were able to be there for Danielle's special day!

Danielle and Hudson...she looked so pretty! Hudson loved the beading on her dress. :)
It was getting very late for Hudson and he started to get VERY sleepy. Paw-Paw was walking him around to see if he might fall asleep in his arms.
Nana's turn...look at those sleepy eyes!!
Needless to say, not long after this picture Kelly, Hudson, and I went back to the hotel to get the little guy in bed. He did so good though...stayed up two hours past his bedtime!
Breakfast in bed Sunday morning at the hotel.
Cute story about the wedding...any time everyone started clapping at the reception (like when Danielle and Aaron were introduced or the bouquet toss..) Hudson would just smile and wave his arms...we think he thought everyone was clapping at him. It was adorable!!

Tunnel of Fun!

This past Monday, we went to a playdate at Melissa and Colton's house. Colton has a toy that Hudson just LOVED...a tunnel! Melissa calls it the "Tunnel of Fun" and let me tell you, Hudson agreed completely with the name. He would crawl through it, turn around, and crawl back again as fast as he could with the biggest smile on his face...it was just precious!
Crawling through the tunnel.

He also enjoyed crawling under her coffee table, although he had a hard time getting out!

Thanks Colton for letting me play with your toys! :)

French Fry Monster

We have been working so hard with Hudson eating "table food" lately. We cut everything up into little pieces and are constantly introducing new foods. He has been doing really well. Today when we sat down for lunch he kept eyeing my french fries. So, I proceded to tear up a french fry and put it on his tray. He was really enjoying it, so I decided to put a whole french fry on his tray. He went after it!! I think he was born knowing how to eat them...he immediately picked it up and started taking bites. He gobbled up several french fries this afternoon...it was so cute!

Double fisting it!
Can we have french fries every day please?

Don't Jump!!!

Weird title for a post I know, but here is the story...there was a recall on Hudson's crib because it doesn't lower enough. Apparently, some children are able to crawl/leap out of it. So, I put our name on the recall list and they sent us a new part to make the crib meet regulations. We haven't been too worried because Hudson didn't stand up to wait for us when he woke up...he continued to enjoy peeking out from under his bumper and playing peek-a-boo. Two weeks ago we decided that Kelly really needed to install the new part. He had been putting it off because he had to take the entire crib apart to do this...not fun! Well, he put the new part on and the crib and it wasn't ANY lower...ugh!! So, I called and they are sending us another new part that should be here tomorrow for him to take the crib apart again. (Poor Kelly!) In the meantime, Hudson decided that he had enough of peek-a-boo and would prefer to stand and wait for us to come get him. Look how high he is in his crib...yikes!

We now practically run in his room the minute we hear him so he doesn't try to escape!! He isn't afraid of heights or falling AT ALL...he loves being held upside down and his new favorite thing is being on our bed and crawling off the side while we hold him by his feet. So, while we wait for the part, all I can say is, "Hudson, please don't jump!"

Simple things...

OK, I always say this and I know that many of you do too, but SERIOUSLY, why do we even buy toys?? I got home from the grocery store today and as I was putting up the groceries, Hudson happily played with a colander and a Bed Bath & Beyond coupon. This went on for at least 20 minutes. I finished putting up the groceries and just sat and watched him play until it was time for his nap. Don't you just love the simple things??
He was talking to the baby looking back at him in the trashcan!!
The colander and the coupon...who needs toys??

Happy Boy!

I admit...I put it on his head...it started a very fun game! :)
Silly Mommy!
I hope we can always cherish the simple things in life!

Pillow anyone?

Earlier this week I went to check on Hudson during his nap and found this:
He was using his bumper as a pillow...it was so cute that I had to take a picture! (Of course the camera woke him up ~ oops!)

Splish Splash!!

This afternoon we took Hudson to Celebration park to their splash park. Hudson LOVED it!! I'm not sure what he loved more...the water or all of the kids that were running around. His head was on a swivel the entire time we were there...he was so busy watching all of the other kiddos! :)
Hudson and Daddy (and...a little boy that kept trying to sneak into our pictures!)
Reaching for the water.

Here he is calling the water to him!! It was so cute to watch!

Getting ready to leave...is this a happy boy or what? I think we will be making many more trips to the splash park in the near future! :)
