For Kelly's 40th birthday, I surprised him with a weekend getaway to San Francisco. Neither of us had ever been, and we had THE BEST TIME!! We saw all of the sights, ate a TON of yummy food, and just spend time with each other. It was amazing! Here are a few highlights from the weekend.
We arrived Friday morning, December 11th. We checked into our hotel, had an amazing lunch at Fisherman's Wharf, then headed to Alcatraz. This was definitely one of our favorite things!! Here is a pic from the ferry on the way to Alcatraz Island.

We did the audio tour and it was so neat! Here is Kelly standing in one of the prison cells.

We walked around Fisherman's Wharf afterward and had to take a picture of the famous sea lions. They were smelly and LOUD! :)
The next day we had to ride the trolley. Very cool, but very crowded!
We went to see the famous Lombard Street.
Then, we took a ferry to Sausilito. This was another of our favorite things. It was THE CUTEST little city. We walked the city, had lunch on the patio, shopped, and had coffee and hot chocolate. Such a nice afternoon!!

We couldn't leave San Francisco without visiting Ghirardelli! We had their famous sundae and stocked up on chocolate! :)
