This past Sunday after church I went to get a pedicure with a friend while Kelly and the boys went home. I knew something was wrong when Kelly was calling my cell phone during my pedicure. When I answered, he told me that Holden fell on the wooden part of the stairs and he was afraid he needed to go to the ER. After sending a picture to a few friends who are nurses, and them all saying that he needed to be seen, I met he and the boys at the emergency room. Thankfully, they were able to glue it and not do stitches, but it sure wasn't fun to watch. They had to wrap his body up in a blanket and they had me hold gauze over his eyes. It was a little traumatic for all of us, but he should be fine within a week. I snapped this picture of him on the way home with my phone. Isn't it the saddest picture you have ever seen??? Poor baby. :(

Monsters - Fall Season
This past weekend Hudson's soccer team, Monsters (previously Little Monsters) ended the season in the semi-finals of the tournament. They played their hearts out! It has been so fun watching Hudson and his teammates grow in this sport and watching Kelly coach. Hudson LOVES soccer and told me after the tournament that he was sad they didn't win the whole thing, but more sad that soccer was over. Sweet boy!! Here's a glimpse of his last game in the tournament.
Hudson getting ready to kick to start the game. (In the center.)
Here is one of #6's biggest fans being loved on by all of the girls! :)
Hudson's first project
Hudson had his first major school project that was due on November 13th. He had to do a timeline of his life. We looked at pictures for what felt like hours and he had a TOUGH time narrowing it down. He still ended up with 2-3 pictures per year. He didn't love doing the project by any means...I'm assuming projects are very different for girls. It was somewhat of a beating, but we got it done. The perfectionist in mommy came out and he had to learn how to use a ruler to make sure things were straight and redo things a few times. He did the work though. When he came home, he said his was one of the best ones and was really proud of it. Here's hoping the next project isn't a beating!!
Fall Pictures
I wanted to have our Fall pictures taken early this year so I could get our Christmas cards printed in plenty of time. So, when they were scheduled for October 11th, I was really excited. Until October 11th got here and it was in the upper 90's...yes 90's. So, the outfits that I had planned for us that consisted of sweaters had to be rethought the day before. Nothing like the Texas weather throwing a wrench in picture plans! We still wore long sleeves, but didn't melt too much during our session. Our pictures were at St. Andrews Methodist Church in Plano and our youngest little man wanted NOTHING to do with pictures. You see, there were rocks, acorns, sticks, leaves, a stream...LOTS of really fun things to play with. So, poor Chera did everything she could think of to get a family picture and ended up getting ONE for our Christmas cards. Holden *might* have a funny look on his face, but when you are 18 months old, getting your picture taken is not at the top of your priority list! :) I was impressed that she even got one!!
The picture below is what we're going with this year:

May the Force be With You!
I knew that I wanted Hudson and Holden's Halloween costumes to go together again this year, so as soon as Hudson made his decision to be Boba Fett from Star Wars, it was a no brainer that Holden would be Yoda. Costumes done!
Here's Yoda walking up to his first house. (Yes, he's holding a toothbrush. No clue?!?)
Not sure what was happening!
Carter (our 2 year old neighbor), Holden, and Hudson
Big brother walking little brother to the next house. Heart melted.
After visiting our neighbors, we headed to a Halloween party in our neighborhood so Hudson could trick-or-treat with some of his friends from school. It was a great night!
Fall Carnival
October 30th was a BUSY day!! It started with Hudson's 9 weeks awards ceremony in the morning, class Halloween party in the afternoon, and then his school's Fall Carnival that evening. It was raining, so the carnival had to be moved inside, which made for a PACKED school, but it was still fabulous. It was clear that night that Hudson is getting older because he and his friends wanted to walk around by themselves. What happened to my baby??
Peyton, Hudson, and Christian before tricycle races.
Absolutely hilarious!!!
The school was SO packed that we had to keep Holden in his stroller. There was so much to look at that he did pretty good, but was much happier when he got to eat a hot dog!
Holden went home after his hot dog dinner, but Hudson closed down the carnival!
Class Halloween Party
Hudson's class Halloween party was Friday, October 30th. His class had fun making witches with their hands for hair and eating fun Halloween treats. Here he is with the group that he sits with.
His 2nd grade class with Mrs. Patsy.
I'm still able to get him to pose with me for a quick pic! :)
2nd Grade Awards...that's MY boy!!
Hudson's first awards ceremony of 2nd grade was Friday, October 30th. We could not have been more proud of him. For the 3rd year in a row, he received the Shining the Way award. This character award is only given to one boy and one girl from each class each 9 weeks. I was beaming with pride as he walked up to get this award again!! He also received an award for A honor roll. He is rocking 2nd grade!!!
A Hunter and His Doe
Saturday, October 24th, Kelly and I headed to a Halloween party in our neighborhood. When searching for costumes, I came across an idea on Pinterest that cracked me up. Since we had almost everything we needed, we went for it, and it turned out perfect! Kelly was a hunter (how appropriate!) and I was a deer. We had a great time!
Like my "deer in headlights" look?!? :)
