Hudson's 1st Fishing Trip!

Hudson recently asked Kelly when he was going to be big enough to go fishing. Kelly told him he was already big enough and so Hudson's first fishing trip was planned for last Friday. I'm not sure who was more excited...Kelly or Hudson! :) Thankfully, the boys let me tag along to witness the first of many fishing trips.

Hudson digging right on in the worm box...YUCK!!!

They got a fish immediately! I couldn't believe it. Hudson was SO EXCITED!!!

Learning how to reel it in himself.

He didn't want to hold the first fish...would only touch it with one finger.

He took a quick break to chase the ducks. :)

He got very brave when the second fish came along...

Yep, that's my boy holding the fish in his hand before throwing it back into the water.

It took Kelly a while to convince him to hold it by it's mouth, but he finally did it!

Then, the promptly let go!

I see many more fishing trips in their future. LOVE my boys!!

He has risen!!

We had such a wonderful time celebrating Easter this year! Hudson woke up extra early Easter morning...he was so excited to start the day!

First he ran to the front door to see his Easter basket.
I just love his crazy bedhead in these pictures!

After going through his basket, we sat down to go through each Resurrection Egg leading up to the final one. We had been doing these each day, so he was able to tell us the meaning of each egg. I love how he is really beginning to understand the true meaning of Easter.

I love his expression when he realized the last egg was empty! He has risen!

After church, we came home to celebrate more with Noni, Aunt Tara, and Uncle Todd. First up, coloring eggs.

Rain was one the way, so instead of waiting for the eggs to dry, we did an egg hunt with plastic eggs. He darted around the yard like a rocket collecting the eggs!

Love this pic...you can see his feet up in the air jumping to try to get the egg.

Uncle Todd to the rescue!

Later that night, we made Resurrection Rolls. Such a fun lesson and SO delicious too!

Hudson took his bath while they were baking, so we had dessert before bed.

Ta-da! The inside was EMPTY!

Such a wonderful day celebrating the true meaning of Easter!

Easter Eggstravaganza

Last Saturday was our church's annual Easter Eggstravaganza. We had a great time as always! Hudson was able to play on the bounce houses before the all important egg hunt began.

Seriously...do you think there are enough eggs?!?
Last year, Hudson froze during the egg hunt. So, on the way there, we talked to him about how when they said to go he needed to pick up eggs as quickly as he could. Well, the child definitely listened. He was a MACHINE! I have never seen someone pick up eggs so fast in my life. We were cracking up!

Other kids were still going strong and Hudson's basket was FULL!

Posing with Noni.

Yep, this was the best family picture we could get. Oh well!

Class Easter Party

Last Thursday, Hudson had his class Easter party at school. I LOVE that I get to attend his parties and help plan them. Makes this mommy happy! First up, was coloring the eggs.

After all of the eggs were colored, the class had to head to chapel. So, I snapped a group pic before they were off. His class only has 6 students in it now and they are just precious!

While they were gone, another mom and I set up the party table. I made the "carrots" out of cheese puffs and then set out the supplies for the kids to make their Rice Krispies baskets.

This was the finished product:

Love planning this fun stuff!! :)

Easter Activities

Thanks to Pinterest, I had a lot of fun planning Easter activities for Hudson this year. In addition to doing our Resurrection Eggs each day, we did some other fun things:

One morning we made Cinna-bunnies.

I made 3 of them and Hudson did the ears for his. His ears make me smile! :)
Concentrating very hard while putting the frosting on...

YUMMY breakfast!

Another afternoon we had fun doing jelly bean activities. First up, sorting them by color:

Then, graphing...

Finally, patterinng...

Hudson's favorite part...EATING the jelly beans! :)

That same day, I surprised him with this fun lunch:

He was hilarious when I told him lunch was ready. He threw up his hands and said, "What is this?" Ha!

He LOVED it!! He ate lunch faster than he ever has before. I will be doing this more often just for the fun of it!

Mommy getting a thumbs up for a good lunch! :)

Thanks Pinterest for all of the fun ideas!
