Open Sesame!

Hudson does things sometimes that have me asking, "How does he know to do that?" Sunday morning was one of those times. He found some extra keys in my purse and jumped up, ran to the front door and tried to open it with the keys. He took turns running from the front door to the back door with the keys. It was too cute! We always come in through the garage, so he never even sees me use keys to open the door. Very clever!

Trying so hard...
Maybe if I open my mouth a little wider that will help!

D is for Dino

This Saturday we helped Quinn celebrate his 2nd birthday. His party was alphabet themed and each child was assigned a letter to represent at the party. Hudson was assigned D and thanks to Amy for telling me about this shirt...it was perfect!
How perfect is that? D IS FOR DINO!! Hudson was all geared up to go to the party!
There were SO MANY fun things to do at Quinn's party...there were bubbles, a bounce house, a slide, a basketball goal...the list goes on. I wish I could have taken more pictures, but the party fell during Hudson's nap and he wanted to cuddle most of the time we were there.
He did take time out from cuddling to eat cake though!
Here is the birthday boy about to blow out his candles. Happy 2nd birthday Quinn!!

Lollipops & Easter Eggs

Yesterday we had a WONDERFUL playgroup at Cara and Landon's house. Since we are getting close to Easter, we decided to try to recreate the Easter picture of the boys last year:
Brittney brought the cutest, brightest lollipops for the boys and they all came wearing jeans. All of the boys were excited for their lollipops and didn't mind the pictures at all, EXCEPT for my little man. He wanted NO PART of sitting on the bench to have his picture taken. Could have cared less!
I mean really, can it be that bad?!?
Chapman, Quinn, Tanner, Reid, Sutton, Hudson, Landon (We missed you Amy and Porter!)
We finally got them down and this is his not ammused face.

After being tortured by the pictures, we headed outside for an Easter Egg hunt that Cara set up. Hudson had a BLAST running around and playing with all of Landon's fun outside toys!
Getting the hang of putting the eggs in his basket.

Taking stock of his eggs!

Hudson was a huge fan of the lawnmower. I think I need to contact the Easter Bunny and let him know...

How cute is this?!! Cara gave each of the boys Easter bags filled with goodies and this PRECIOUS hand painted egg...she is just too creative!!! Thanks guys for such a fun playgroup! :)

Case Solved

Let me set the scene: After lunch today Hudson wanted to color. So, we got out the coloring book and crayons and began coloring. Hudson lost interest after a few minutes and began playing with a train. I literally turned away to respond to an email for no more than 30 seconds and turned around to find that my sweet little man had colored on the seat of his beloved Smart Wheels bike. Yes, he discovered that crayons write on things other than paper today. So, after a lesson about crayons only being used on paper and a few swipes with a Mr. Clean magic eraser the crime scene was cleared.

No more turning away when the crayons are out!!!

The Plane, The Plane!

Yesterday we met some our playgroup friends at the DFW Observation area and let me tell you...it was fabulous!! The boys absolutely loved being able to run around and watch the planes so close. Hudson also loved the statue and being able to play in the rocks...of course! After watching the planes for a while, we went to Rainforest Cafe for lunch and it was a hit also. I think that was by far the most relaxing lunch out with Hudson ever...he was meserized by everything going on there and got so excited each time the monkeys and elephants started making noise and moving. Such a fun morning with our friends!!

You can't really tell in this picture, but Hudson was actually rolling down the hill towards the fence in the background. He got to going faster than his little legs could keep up with and just fell down and started rolling. He thought it was great! (Made Mommy a little nervous!)

Family Filled Weekend

This past weekend we headed up to Oklahoma to help my Grandma celebrate her 80th birthday. It was the first time her 3 great-grandchildren were together and the first time Hudson met his second cousins.
Hudson meeting Carter for the first time. He kept trying to put his paci in his mouth for him...it was precious!
Carter, Hudson, and Henry
Hudson didn't quite understand why the other two boys were just laying there...he really wanted them to play with him.
Here is Grandma with her grandchildren and their spouses and her great-grandchildren. How neat! :)
After the party we headed to Paw-Paw and Nana's to spend the night before returning home on Sunday. Hudson was so excited that he got to see so much family all in one day! Sunday before we left Hudson was playing outside with Nana and was having a hard time keeping his hood on his head. She finally realized that if she had her hood on, then he didn't mind wearing his too. I walked outside to find this:

Monkey See, Monkey Do! :)

19 Months!

Hudson is 19 months old today which is just unreal to me! He is such a mess these days...he is definitely turning into Mr. Independent which can be tricky at times. :) He loves to test us on every level just to make sure that we are still in charge. His smile lights up the room and we are pretty sure he knows it. He is talking a lot more, but most words are understood by Kelly and I only. He has started making a few animal sounds too which is just precious...he moos when he sees a cow and it just cracks me up every time. Dogs are definitely on the top of his list though, he says "woof woof" when he sees one, hears one, or if you say the word dog. Too cute! His favorite time of the day is still bath time and he still cries when we take him out. He has learned how to turn the knob on the drain though and he just laughs and laughs when he stops the water from leaving. He continues to be the light of our lives!

OK, I have to admit that I wasn't sure if I was going to post these next two pictures or not. Kelly won Hudson this Bevo last year at the State Fair. Hudson used to be afraid of Bevo, but lately he has been dragging him out every so often. Tonight, he was giving Bevo a drink while playing with the tupperware and then he started giving Bevo kisses. Even though I'm not a Bevo fan, I must admit that it was pretty darn cute!

I love you sweet boy!

What do you do on a cold, rainy day?

The weather outside is so yucky today!! Hudson and I have been playing hard inside and he discovered something new. We were in the study and he accidentally knocked over the shredder. To his surprise tiny bits of paper starting falling out...the boy was in heaven...

Time to get the broom and clean up.

Seriously, we played with the shredded paper for over an hour, stopped to eat lunch, then played in it for another 20 minutes before nap time. Perfect for a cold, rainy day! :)

Can I Get a Flower Picture Please??

Today we headed to the Arboretum to meet some friends. Going there is definitely not like it used to be...there is no plopping Hudson down in front of the flowers and getting a picture anymore. It is more snapping a picture while he runs in front of the flowers and trying to get him to not step or pull the flowers these days!! I think his favorite part was the petting zoo. My how times have changed!!
When we first got in the petting zoo, Hudson just kept pointing at the animals. It took him a few minutes, but he finally got brave enough to pet most of them. He loved them!!
I think the sheep might have loved him too!!

Does this count as a flower picture?!?!
Switching snack traps with Griffin...they both thought what the other had was better!

The Arboretum was definitely somewhat of a workout today, but we had a great time. Hudson loved the wide open spaces where he could just roam free...I'm sure there will be a time later where we can walk the paths again! :)
